Education

Welcome to the page of the CSPB Education Committee. Our mission is to promote the teaching and public awareness of plant physiology and thus be of use for both members of the scientific community and the general public. The most important instrument is this web site which provides resources for teachers and students and hopefully is useful for anybody trying to learn more about plant physiology and plant biology in general.

Feedback on the site, suggestions, news and other potential links, are welcome and can be sent to the Education Director of the CSPB:

CSPB & Fascination of Plants Day (FoPD)

The second international "Fascination of Plants Day" is being launched under the umbrella of the European Plant Science Organization (EPSO). The main goal of this event is to get as many people as possible around the world fascinated by plants and enthused about the importance of plants to other species including humans, e.g. in sustainable food production, all of the non-food products such as paper, timber, chemicals, energy, and pharmaceuticals, and in environmental conservation.

The Canadian Society of Plant Biologists (CSPB) invites you to organize a fascinating activity related to plants for the Fascination of Plants Day event anytime during May 13 – 19, 2013. CSPB members are asked to submit pictures/reports of their FoPD activities for the CSPB Education website. We hope that this will encourage others to organize FoPD activities next year.

Please contact Canada National Coordinator Shahrokh Khanizadeh mailto:Shahrokh.Khanizadeh@AGR.GC.CA or the EPSO Coordinator Trine Hvoslef-Eide trine.hvoslef-eide@umb.no for more information on this event.
